DIRECT CARE CHAPTER UPDATE
January 15, 1998

January 15, 1998 marked the third meeting of the metro Atlanta Direct Care Chapter. The meeting was hosted by Inner Harbour Hospital in Douglasville and was well represented by participating agencies. Approximately 45 individuals attended the meeting, representing 10 area agencies. Inner Harbour itself seemed somewhat confused about it's own child care workers attending the meeting. If the Inner Harbour staff were present, attendance would have been significantly higher.

The day's activities centered around the usual greetings and a fun door prize activity for attendees. A connecting activity preparing the members for the training period was offered. Participant surveys indicated high marks for the fun activity, the connecting time together and the presenter, who discussed "resolving staff conflicts." A tour of the lock-down facility was conducted following the meeting.
