Weekly Update March 12, 2021
PREVENTION SERVICES WORKGROUP

The Prevention Services Workgroup (PSW) is charged with informing DFCS’s vision and plan for a statewide expansion and alignment of services that can safely prevent children and youth from entering foster care.

The group will proactively obtain and draw on a strong understanding of data on children and families within the population Georgia is targeting under the Family First Act, the results of Georgia’s preventive services array survey, input from experts and insights from local and statewide prevention leaders. Based on this information, the group will form recommendations for an aligned Family First Act preventive services array.

WHO CAN JOIN

Workgroup membership is open to all interested providers and will also include DFCS staff and representatives from sister agencies. Each provider is limited to one registration per agency.

MEETINGS

The Prevention Services Workgroup will meet online six times from the end of March through the end of June 2021. The first group meeting will be Friday, March 26th, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. After you register, we will send a calendar invitation for the entire series of six meetings.

Each meeting will be approximately 90 minutes. Materials from each group meeting will be added to this page following that meeting’s conclusion.

REGISTRATION

Please register by March 19th, 2021, to be included in all six group meetings.
