James Allen “Jim” Chamberlin has been the SAAG for a tri-county section of Region XII (Glynn, Camden and McIntosh) since 1986. Jim has steadfastly demonstrated outstanding commitment to serving children and families from the onset of his appointment. He maintains current knowledge of the ever-changing laws and policies that are applicable to the foster care and court systems. He makes sure that all parties involved are made aware of upcoming changes and implements all new changes in a timely and correct fashion. He provides excellent legal representation for all three counties and makes time to consult with DFCS staff as needed on all cases. He works hard to prepare DFCS staff for the courtroom and guide them to gather the information necessary for the court to make an informed decision. He mentors staff on courtroom testimony and is instrumental in training new DFS hires in the area of courtroom competency. He has never had a case decision reversed on appeal. Jim’s integrity, commitment, and outstanding professionalism have earned him the respect of all agency staff, officers of the court, judges and other attorneys. He is a true friend and advocate of children, always putting their best interests first.
Jim is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Mercer University School of Law. He is married and has one son. |
