Case Manager of the Year |
|
Rose Chambers is a case manager with the Resource Development Team in Jones County DFCS. Rose has not only made a difference in the lives of children in her county, but in Area VI and her influence is now spilling over to the entire state of Georgia. Rose’s recruitment skills are so outstanding that she was asked to undertake the major task of recruiting for all eleven counties in Area VI. She has found many creative ways of recruiting that have helped Area VI almost double the number of foster parents in the last year. She won a $4,000 grant for the Resource Development Team in Area VI by designing giveaway items to be used statewide by the Office of Adoptions. She has worked tirelessly to provide more support and training for foster parents in an effort to improve retention. She has worked to develop foster parent associations in all 11 counties as well as a Regional Foster Parent Association. She spends many evening hours providing training to foster family and is always seeking ways to acknowledge appreciation of foster parents. She is a strong believer that until ALL DFCS workers are MAPP trained that we cannot expect partnership with our foster families. She has volunteered to MAPP train all the services staff in Area VI and convinced county leadership to let her do so. By December 12, 2003 all services staff in Area VI should be MAPP trained, thanks to the efforts of Rose.
Rose has been married for 39 years and has 6 children and 9 grandchildren. She is a member of the School Council of Jones County High and an active certified 4-H volunteer. She attended the University of Georgia.
