Recognizing Individuals for Outstanding Work with
Children
Its that time of year again to nominate your outstanding colleagues
to be recognized for their hard work and contributions to the foster care
and juvenile justice systems in Georgia. We are interested in honoring
individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to collaboration with other
agencies and programs to better serve children and families. All awards
will be presented at the 6th Annual Child Placement Conference closing
luncheon November 9, 2005 at the Radisson Riverfront Hotel Augusta /
Country Suites Augusta Riverwalk in Augusta. Below please find a brief
explanation on the categories of awards:
Leadership Award An individual who has demonstrated outstanding
vision for change and leadership over the past year in advocating for
children and families served by the Georgia foster care and juvenile
justice systems.
Public Service Award An elected or appointed official who has
made an outstanding contribution to the foster care and juvenile justice
systems over the past year.
Friends of Children Award An individual who has made a
significant commitment to making a difference for children in foster care
and juvenile justice placements by providing direct care services.
Case Manager of the Year A DFCS, DJJ, or private provider case
manager that has made outstanding contributions over the past year.
Supervisor of the Year A DFCS, DJJ, or private provider
supervisor that has made outstanding contributions over the past year.
SAAG of the Year A Special Assistant to the Attorney General who
has demonstrated outstanding commitment to serving children and families.
Attorney Child Advocate of the Year An attorney child advocate
who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to serving children and
families.
Volunteer of the Year A volunteer in the foster care or juvenile
justice systems who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to children
and families.

colleagues that you believe deserve one of these awards. The deadline for
nominations is Monday,
October 3, 2005.
