1. HMRE Project referenced in UGA President’s address!
It was a great honor to have the HMRE project referenced by President Jere Morehead during his 2016 State of the University address on January 20. President Morehead highlighted the HMRE project as an example of UGA's signature research theme "Changing lives through the land-grant mission." To see the section of his speech where he references the project, go to:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWGR2t_SyyY&feature=youtu.be&t=21m40s (the transcript of his address is located athttp://www.uga.edu/about_uga/profile/state-of-the-university-2016/) .
2. Creative? Help us come up with a project name.
We invite our partners to help us come up with a project name that we can use in promoting the services we will be collaboratively working together to offer families across DFCS Region V. As great as “HMRE Project” is, it is not something that families would understand and remember. Help us in our effort to develop the branding of this exciting project. The name and/or acronym should reflect the goals of the project: (1) improve healthy couple relationships and (2) enhance economic stability (seehttp://www.fcs.uga.edu/hdfs/hmre-goals). Please email your ideas to Sherena Small
(firstname.lastname@example.org) by February 5. In February’s update we will share our top choices and ask you, our partners, to vote for the name you like best.
3. Welcome our new Program Coordinators!
We are so excited to have our three program coordinators on board! Below is a brief bio of each coordinator. They will be responsible for coordinating program services that will be offered to families across DFCS Region V. During the next couple of weeks, they will be reaching out to our partners at the county level to schedule time to meet and discuss next steps as we move the HMRE project forward.
