Normalcy for Youth in Foster Care Web Section Live

The Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act of 2014 is a Federal law designed to promote well-being and normalcy for youth in foster care by allowing caregivers and foster parents to use the reasonable and prudent parent standard (PDF - 274 KB), or their best judgment, in making day-to-day decisions regarding the youth in their care. The normalcy aspect of the law promotes participation in age-appropriate activities and experiences that allow for healthy development and well-being for youth involved in foster care. The new Normalcy for Youth in Foster Care web section includes resources that provide information for professionals and caregivers on how to support and promote typical childhood experiences for youth in foster care. Resources include State and local examples.
