Bipartisan House, Senate Leaders Announce Proposed Child Welfare Legislation - Ways and Means

The House Ways and Means Committee joined the Senate Finance Committee in releasing a proposal that will redirect federal funding to support prevention and evidence based services to, "keep more children safely at home and out of foster care." We anticipate this legislation will be signed by the President in mid-July. If signed, the residential portions should go into effect Sept, 2019. The Foster Family-based Treatment Association (FFTA) anticipates many more children will be directed to Therapeutic Foster Care.
