Weekly Update February 19, 2016 

SALARY SURVEY  remains open - response from each member agency is requested.   TG members are requesting updated salary survey information. We are inching along and need a significant number of responses in order to be meaningful (12 agencies responded to date). The individual results will be confidential and sorted for distribution.

  • Family First Act purportedly will not go to hearing in the US Senate Finance until June, September or December
  • Advocates were successful in repealing IRS planned rule that would have required non-profits to report to the IRS all financial contributors 
  • FFTA and colleagues are pushing for inclusion of Licensed Behavioral Health Professional (LBHP) as reimbursable professionals under Medicare
  • Human Resources Subcommittee proposed a 1.5 percent rate increase for CPA, CCI, foster care and relatives totaling $4.25 million (advocacy continues) 
  • HB 915 sponsored by Rep Welch did not make it through committee by default on Tuesday.This bill includes proposals around criminal background checks and provider scorecards.
  • Of interest to providers with residential schools, the education dollars were reduced by Rep Tom Dickson and Education Subcommittee Tuesday morning. 
  • Crossover Day in Georgia is February 29 - this is the deadline for a bill to pass through one Chamber (House or Senate) and crossover to the other Chamber for consideration. If a bill does not crossover, it will not pass this session. FYI - tracking bills through the General Assembly
