Provider Watch - November 4, 2008 - KidsNet Survey

Dear Child Welfare Provider,

As Executive Director of the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children (GAHSC), I am pleased to assist key partners in the dissemination of a workforce development survey related to youth behavioral health services.  The goal of KidsNet Georgia is to assist in the transformation of behavioral health services across the state by improving the service delivery system. One avenue toward achieving this goal is the identification of training needs of the present workforce--GASHC supports the work of KidsNet Georgia in conducting this survey.

KidsNet Georgia embraces the “system of care” philosophy for serving the most vulnerable youth and families. The primary goal is to focus on improving the ability of youth and families to function effectively in their communities.  KidsNet Georgia works to achieve this goal by supporting collaboration between diverse groups to ensure that all agencies have a well-trained workforce of people who understand how our work and individual expertise interface across agencies and organizations.  Working with agency leadership, we hope to identify training needs and thoughtfully plan together how our state can meet these needs.  These needs are even more apparent with the current economic downturn and resulting budget cuts.

Please take 20-25 minutes to complete the workforce training survey.   The survey will automatically direct you to questions based upon your primary job description.  None of the information you provide will be used to examine your individual performance or your local office; KidsNet is only interested in determining the needs by overall organization, across professions, and statewide.  We urge you to answer honestly regarding the knowledge and skills you possess--this will assure appropriate identification of the topics and skills for which you NEED training.  By completing this survey, you will assist in identifying the training needed to improve services to Georgia’s youth.

The work that you do is critical to the future of Georgia’s families and children, and, as we move forward, we want to ensure that we are well prepared to meet the many needs of youth and families in our communities.  You may access the survey at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=siNEBvGkTKAWXv4qANnhUA_3d_3d

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Normer Adams, who is serving as manager for this survey project, at 404-572-6170 or normer@gahsc.org. Thank you for your participation.

Sincerely,
Normer Adams
