Welfare Watch - November 05, 2008 - New Leadership in Washington

Andrew Young put yesterday in perspective, "This is not a political event, it is a Biblical event."

He went on to explain that only the Divine could bring together a man out of Kenya with a white woman in Kansas, to have a child who was raised in the east/west world melting pot of Hawaii, sparing him the scourge of racism on the continent.  This new man, Barack Obama, in his campaign for this country's highest office transcended the fears and limitations of the past to bring hope and expectation for a new future.

Each person of our wonderfully transformative nation could celebrate the election of its first African American President.  This event transcends politics and makes what was once thought impossible, possible.

It is this hope for the future that we look to new leadership in Washington to bring policies that serve our at-risk children and their families, promises them a brighter future and supports the work of those providers that invest in their care.
