Governor's Office for Children and Families Releases Caring Community System of Care Request For Proposals

ATLANTA- The Governor's Office for Children and Families announced today
that the 2009 Caring Communities System of Care funding opportunity is now available through a competitive open Request For Proposals at www.children.ga.gov.  The Governor's Office for Children and Families is committed to building systems of care for Georgia communities by funding providers, agencies and organizations that operate under these core values and principles and are willing to continue expansion of the system of care model for youth and families at the local level.  Eligible communities will be able to apply for awards up to $325,000 per year for a possible three years of funding.  Please consult the online RFP for more information and requirements.
 
Communities interested in submitting a RFP are highly encouraged to attend one of the following trainings held by GOCF.  These trainings are free, however, registration is required on our web site.

The Governor's Office for Children and Families (GOCF) seeks to enhance coordination and communication among providers and stakeholders of services to families. Through a community-based system of care, GOCF offers grants for prevention and intervention activities for children, youth and families to ensure they are educated, healthy, safe and growing. GOCF is working to build capacity in communities to enable sustainability of such activities and services. Interagency coordination assistance in establishing statewide goals and standards is also a cornerstone of GOCF's community development work.
