Provider Watch - August 19, 2009 - DBHDD Notice Regarding Accreditation and Certification Policy     

To: Behavioral Health Providers - Please note below the DBHDD notice regarding accreditation and certification policy. Also for your review is a copy of the policy.
 

 During this fiscal year, the Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) will be reviewing and updating as needed all previous DHR DMHDDAD policies.  In the interim, DBHDD is distributing the existing policy regarding accreditation and certification requirements for MH, AD and DD providers.  Attached is Policy #9.100 with a cover note that conveys the following important information: 

All providers of Mental Health Services, Addictive Diseases Services and/or Developmental Disabilities Services are obligated to abide by their current FY10 contract, provider agreement, or letter of agreement with regard to certification and accreditation requirements.  The contract, provider agreement, or letter of agreement supersede this policy.

This policy, with the above note, will be placed in the Provider Manual when it is updated.  The policy will be updated during FY10 and that revised policy will be distributed and also placed in the Provider Manual.  In the meantime, we want to make sure all providers are aware of this information.  Therefore, we ask that Regional Offices distribute this email to all MH, DD and AD providers.
