Welfare Watch - November 01, 2009 - New Adoption Assistance Definition Proposed
Last week the Department of Human Services announced that it would be withdrawing the proposed changes to the “special needs” adoption assistance criteria. DHS has reissued new criteria and provided notice concerning a public hearing. This notice with supporting information can be found here:

Written comments are due by November 29th.
The public hearing will start at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, in DHS Board Room, #2 Peachtree St, Suite 29-250, Atlanta, Georgia
The DHS Board will consider final adoption of these proposed rules at its regular board meeting on Wednesday, December 9, 2009.
