for Runaway Children Survey Question: Would you be willing to accept runaway children in your residential program under the provisions of HB185? Agency: Contact Person: Email: Phone: ______________ We are taking a survey of residential agencies that would be willing to take into care runaway children under the provisions of HB185 . This legislation allows for an agency to take care of a runaway youth for up to three days while they attempt to contact their parents. After three days, the youth must be reported to DFCS or to the police. This legislation provides for no public funding in this three day period or when the child placed in the residential agency by the parent or guardian. Each year, scores of youth runaway from home. These agencies will provide a needed resource for youth that may otherwise find themselves seeking shelter in very risky situations. Please forward survey response to office@gahsc.org or fax to (404) 572-6171. Thank you.
