Welfare Watch March 29, 2016 - A Starry Night

The 3rd annual A Starry Night fundraiser is just around the corner!

The Multi-Agency Alliance for Children, Inc. (MAAC) is excited to be hosting our 3rd annual A Starry Night fundraiser on May 12th at 6:00PM at the offices of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Atlantic Station. We will again be recognizing our youth and adult Shining Stars, enjoying the silent auction and the beautiful views of the sun setting over Atlanta. This year is especially significant as we celebrate our 20th anniversary!

As you may know, today there are over 11,000 children and youth in foster care in Georgia. Hundreds of those youth will transition from foster care, or age out, without the support and resources needed for a successful beginning to adulthood, facing odds that no child should have to. MAAC and EmpowerMEnt are working to change those odds through ensuring youth voice is heard and at the center of our work, advocating for system changes that better support families in crisis and youth in foster care, and championing the power of youth advocacy.

A Starry Night is instrumental in this effort, supporting necessities such as stipends for youth, matched savings accounts for transportation, housing and education, emergency funds, and support for youth across the state to advocate for better outcomes for themselves and their brothers and sisters.

We hope you will join us for this very special night and for this crucial cause. Tickets may be purchased via our website at http://tinyurl.com/ASN2016. To be included on the invitation as a host or sponsor, please respond by March 30th.  Formal invitations to follow.

Thank you for your support of MAAC
and our young people!
