OVERVIEW OF THE COMMITTEES
FINANCE --prepare a proposed Annual Operating Budget
for consideration by the Executive Committee. --provide for the annual audit
of all financial records of the Association. --assist the Treasurer in the
collection of outstanding dues. --seek alternative funding sources for the
activities of the Association as may be appropriate.
MEMBERSHIP --develop strategies to increase the membership
of the Association. --receive applications for membership. --determine
the qualification of each agency or individual applying in order to make
recommendations to the Executive Committee.
NOMINATING
--make nominations for persons to fill any vacancy that may occur during the
year. --secure from each nominee his/her agreement to serve if elected.
--prepare a slate of officers to be presented for election at the Annual
Meeting of the Association.
PUBLIC
POLICY --investigate, study and promote sound
legislation for the improvement and protection of residential child care
facilities and their residents.
ORS LIAISON --work with the Executive and
Legislative branches of state government and make effective presentations of
considered issues of the Association to these branches on all matters under
their active or continuing purview which relate to the mutual interests of
members of the Association. --work with the Licensing Section of the
Department of Human Resources to present issues of concern of the Association
for the benefit of our mutual interests.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
--Develop strategies for the enhancement of GAHSC and child welfare in
Georgia STRATEGIC
PLANNING
--develop and monitor the strategic plan of the association.
--continuous development of the strategic plan
CONFERENCE and TRAINING --serve as the clearinghouse for all planning relative to
training and workshops sponsored by the Association.
TECHNOLOGY
-recommends technology enhancements to the Association.
-advises on technology development
EDUCATION
REFORM TASKFORCE
-time limited taskforce to advocate for support and reform of
educational services to foster children who reside in private agencies.
WORKFORCE
-Develop strategies to create a competent
confident workforce in child welfare.
