Workgroup 1’s Responses to Preamble & Framework Suggested Changes to Framework Items
14. Assessments need to be dynamic. There should be a continuum of assessments. 15. Assessments should be comprehensive based on the point in time & intent of assessment. 16. “All” services no matter where children live. They should receive services based on risk & need. 17. “Social services” phrasing. “Economic development” distracts reader from intent of item. Think you mean community economic development; strong families build strong communities. 18. Add “child-serving agencies” in front of “work force”. 19. Wording is unclear. Not all case management (plans, etc.) need to come before a juvenile court. 20. “All” who service children is too expansive a pool of people to have access to such information. “Authorized users” may be more accurate phrasing. GeneralWhat are the core values of this ‘document’? This list is a mixture of values, recommendations, and guiding principles. Preamble should be shortened. Also is too negative and dismal. Can be realistic; but needs to focus on strengths & assets which can be brought to bear on the problem. |
