SUBJECT:     FY06 LOC Contracts

The Department of Human Resources, Division of Family and Children Services is most appreciative of the work and energy of Georgia’s therapeutic residential service providers in helping us refine the language and improve the clarity of the FY06 LOC provider contract.  I am especially grateful to the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children (GAHSC) for your collaboration and important contributions to this process. 

The GAHSC association leadership and its membership worked with us to refine the language of the contract following the letting of FY06 LOC contracts.  While not substantively changing contract intent, the refinements involve sufficient rewriting that the contract must be redrafted.  

Therefore, I am directing Division of Family and Children Services staff to send out a revised FY06 LOC provider contract incorporating these suggested changes:   

·        Extending the FY05 contract through December 31, 2005; and 

·        Adding the additional funds appropriated by the State Legislature through the period of contract extension (December 31, 2005) to LOC levels 4 – 6 per diem rates. 

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused those providers who have already signed and returned the original version of the FY06 LOC provider contract.  However, I know that the refinements give all of us an improved contract.  If you have any questions, please feel free to direct them to Ms. Mary Dean Harvey, DFCS Director at 404-657-5202.
