Provider Watch - March 2, 2007 - RBWO Rates Set

Yesterday, State DFCS published new rates for private out-of-home care providers.  These rates were determined by separating Room and Board and Watchful Oversight (RBWO) and treatment services from the current rate structure.  This process is called “debundling” in reference to how Level of Care “bundled” both RBWO with treatment services.”  After months of work with providers in “debundling of Level of Care,” DFCS will implement these new rates effective July 1, 2007 for all providers.  These are “provider specific” rates.  The higher rates based on “enhanced” oversight will be determined by the case mix of the children in care.  Treatment services to children will be provided through and paid for by the DMHDDAD and DCH.  Richard O’Neill is the lead person in the rate setting process.  Any questions should be directed to him at 404 657 5170 or raoneill@dhr.state.ga.us .
