MAPP Alternatives Taskforce Minutes

The MAPP Alternatives Taskforce met to discuss DHR's assessment
of the Treatment Parent Readiness Training. Jane Bachman
presented a lengthy presentation of the department's assessment.
A copy of the assessment was distributed to participants.

Consensus was formed around the concept that foster parent
training needed to be:
1.      Consistent for all foster parents
2.      Follows certain protocols
3.      Has a assessment and selection piece
4.      Contains all components of MAPP training

After much discussion, the following was decided:

1.      The Department of Human Resources will review a final copy of
the Treatment Parent Readiness Training. Creative Community
Services will present this copy to the Department.
2.      The Department upon approval of amended curriculum will amend
the MATCH Standards for Providers to include both MAPP and TPRT
Training.
3. The Standards will allow any MATCH agency to use MAPP or TPRT. TPRT may
not be portable to DFCS in the event the foster parent wants to transfer
from a private agency to DFCS.
