Devereux Georgia Treatment Network is a non-profit organization located on a lovely rural site outside of Atlanta.  Devereux Georgia Treatment Network  serves as a behavioral health treatment network for children and young adults suffering with severe emotional and psychological challenges.  We nurture and encourage our youth to work towards achieving goals and to never give up.  We believe that it takes a whole village to raise a child, and we look to our community to assist us in this work.  A way of helping us to achieve our goal is by donating.  The following is a list items needed:

  • School supplies

  • Gently used educational or classic books

  • Adult clothing (men and women's sizes L, XL, XXL, XXXL)

  • Shoes, gently used

  • New items:  socks, underwear, bras

Thank you in advance for your assistance.  Anyone interested in assisting us, may contact Paula Parrish by email: pparrish@devereux.org or by calling (770) 782-0717 ext. 2668.  Link to website: www.devereuxga.org

Family Art Therapy Center Art Supplies Needed - Family Art Therapy Center uses art with children in foster care to help process the complex issues surrounding placement. We also use the art experience to expose children in foster care to various mediums which inevitably increases self esteem as they master the materials. By using art in therapy with these children we teach them ways to express themselves especially during times of distress. The use of art also allows the children to gain an understanding of their world and a way to understand the positive relationships in their lives. We serve foster children in 13 north Georgia counties and can always use art materials. Donations would be greatly appreciated. Some examples include:

  • acrylic paint, paint brushes, paper (large drawing), canvas, glitter, air drying modeling clay, glue and glue sticks, craypas, crayons, foam shapes, scrap booking materials, stickers,  watercolor kits, feathers, beads, yarn, safety scissors, blank journals, plain canvas bags, and  finger paint.

  • Used household items, such as buttons, material, batting, socks (for making stuffed animals/dolls), broken jewelry, wire,  yarn, small trinkets like thimbles, pins, miniature doll  furniture, anything that could be glued down, cut up or decorated. No cardboard please.

  • We are beginning to supply each of our foster children with an art supply kit of their own. We need new gallon paint buckets to fill with crayons, a small drawing tablet, colored pencils, a glue stick, and watercolors. Each of the art supplies is needed as well.

Thanks so much for your help. Anyone interested in assisting us, can call Carmen Rose, Office Manager at 706-782-0717 or Beth Black, Director 706-782-0717 ext 223.
