designed to help agencies to become self-sufficient in teaching their
staff CPR/First Aid skills. During the three day training participants
will complete three courses to become a Red Cross Instructor. This is a
rigorous and demanding training! It requires participants to do work
outside of class. This training will be taught within the guidelines of
the American Red Cross. Attendance does not guarantee certification for
participant. Participants must demonstrate proficiency in First/Aid CPR
and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). AED Skills will be reviewed in
class. Participants must successfully complete practice-teaching
assignments and pass all required tests with at least an 80% score to pass
the course and receive certification. Upon successful completion of the
training participants will receive First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
certificate. About the Presenter: successfully co Training Outline Monday, August 12th Adult, Infant & Child CPR with First Aid and AED (Basic Level Class/Review) Review information on how to recognize and care for life-threatening emergencies of adults, infants and children. Training will also cover how to treat victims of accidental injuries or sudden illnesses who need immediate care and to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as a citizen responder. Tuesday, August 13th & Wednesday, August 14th Fundamentals of Instructor Training (Independent Study) This introduces instructor candidate to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross. It prepares instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross specialty courses to diverse populations. It will also introduce instructor candidates to the policies and procedures of the American Red Cross to ensure course consistency, quality and appropriate reporting. First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Training Participants will learn to train students from the 2000 Emergency Cardiac Care guidelines in First aid /CPR/AED. Participants will review course materials and will learn presentation techniques, evaluation methods and procedures for preparing Red Cross reports.
