!!! CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS !!!

"CONNECTING TOGETHER FOR MEANINGFUL OUTCOMES"

Please join us as the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children begins planning for its 2005 Annual Conference. This year’s conference will be held on April 26 - 28, 2005 at the Hilton Oceanfront Resort, Hilton Head Island, SC.

This year’s conference focus is organized around an imperative about “meaningful outcomes”. All of the activities, workshops and keynotes will demonstrate that outcomes and results must transcend buzzwords and static measurements in order to be effective in changing people’s lives in positive ways. To that end, our efforts, approaches, technologies and interventions must demand a collective commitment and wisdom to create, define and achieve meaningful outcomes: results that are positively, life changing - demonstrated in qualitative as well as quantitative ways. This evolution must become the revolution and architecture of all our systems of care in Georgia. GAHSC’s private provider membership is not only up to the task: it will lead the way to a “meaningful” brighter and better future for our youth and families. WE, together will set the pace!

We invite you to share your expertise in the form of a presentation to this year’s attendees, which will include administrators, clinicians, direct care staff, support staff, and state personnel from the Division of Family and Children Services, the Division of Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse, and other agencies. We will welcome presentations on such subjects as:

Resources for children, families and caregivers (grants, educational services, transportation, family-focused models of services, admission through reintegration and aftercare etc.) Please include measurable outcomes in your abstract.
Specific populations, such as youth preparing for independent living, children who exhibit sexual behaviors, working with children with loss and grief issues, children impacted by domestic violence, children and families in rural areas, non-compliant and aggressive children, etc.
