Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children

CONSULTATION SERVICES AVAILABLE

The S. Margaret Gallagher Foundation (SMG) is pleased to offer consultation services to members of the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children.  This small foundation specializes in capacity building for agencies that are otherwise unable to afford such services.  Based in Ohio, SMG is led by its Executive Director, Gilbert V. Kelling, Jr.  An attorney, Gil has a passion for serving at risk children.  His services include Access to Planned Giving Assistance and Crisis Management.  Working with Gil is Steve Hubbard, currently CEO of the Sheriffs Youth Programs of Minnesota.  Steve formerly served .as both Director of Campus Life and Director of Community Services for the United Methodist Children’s Home in Decatur.  Steve consults with SMG and his services include Strategic Planning, Accreditation Preparation, and Assistance in Program Administration.

To discourage the unreasonable monopolization of the consulting services to the detriment of other qualified organizations, the Foundation shall require each recipient to pay a nominal fee and to reimburse the Foundation for out-of-pocket travel and related services.  Such a fee may be waived by the Foundation whenever it is demonstrated that there is no apparent abuse of the availability of the consulting services.

If a GAHSC member agency is interested in these capacity building consultation services, they are encouraged to call Steve Hubbard at 651-270-9217 for information on the application process.
