Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

"Framing the Future of Our Children:
Constructing Healthy Families and Communities"

Please join us as the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children begins planning for its 2006 Annual Conference. This year’s conference will be held on May 10 - 12, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency, Savannah GA.

This year’s conference theme is "Framing the Future of Our Children: Constructing Healthy Families and Communities". The theme is organized around key concepts at the forefront of professionals and organizations serving our youth:

       Foundation: a firm foundation including safety and staff training opportunities;
       Supports: well designed supports including residential services, community-based programming,
       family/community services, and therapeutic pathways;
       Roof: a sound roof to protect and cover all that we do, this includes collaboratives, private and
       governmental agencies, political, legal and ethical standards.

All of the activities, workshops and keynotes will demonstrate that each part of what we do contributes to the creation of healthy families, communities and positive outcomes for our youth. The architecture of change has many components; our goal is to provide our conference participants with new tools and design plans to enhance and improve their practice and opportunities for youth.

We invite you to share your expertise in the form of a presentation to this year’s attendees, which will include administrators, clinicians, direct care staff, support staff, and state personnel from the Division of Family and Children Services, the Division of Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse, and other agencies.
