Step 1 Attend Orientation
All NCPC Certification candidates must attend orientation. Orientation includes an overview of :
· The process
· The roles and responsibilities of candidates and assessors
· The professional standards the candidate is expected to demonstrate
Step Two- Meet with Your Assessor
The assessor is your coach / mentor, supporting you throughout the certification process. The candidate and assessor meet to:
· Address candidate questions or concerns
· Select the optional standards the candidate will pursue
· Identify the candidates knowledge or skill gaps, and outline a plan to address these areas
· Develop a plan to allow candidate to demonstrate competence and achieve certification.
Step Three- Demonstrate Competence
As a candidate you must demonstrate competence against approved professional standards through daily workplace activities. Evidence of this demonstration may include:
Step Four-Portfolio Assessment
You then gather all evidence of your demonstration of on-the-job competence into a portfolio. The portfolio is then assessed as follows:
Step Five-Certification
Once NCPC is confident the portfolio refelcts successful demonstration of competence, your NCPC Professional Certification Certificate is issued.
